    AIXO is a shop specialized in furniture, design, Nordic decoration and vintage with a touch of Mediterranean essence.The freshness and simplicity of its website, as well as its physical store, inspires all sorts of concepts that are very popular nowadays: vintage, modernism with an antique touch and, above all, the importance in the small details. Today, Belén will explain the keys to the success of her business in the online and offline fields, and how she set up her online shop with Oleoshop. 
  • - Belén, how was AIXO born? When did you decide to go one step beyond and make your dream come true?

    It wasn´t very original. It happened when my daughter was born that I gathered all the necessary courage to do it. I had been thinking about it for a long time but I didn´t dare to take the first step.

    - The vintage concept is gaining much strength in several countries, but the Nordic style isn´t so well known. How do you do (in the online and offline fileds) to make it known and gain your audience? 

    It isn´t difficult because it´s a style lots of people like, not only for its bright and clean aesthetic but because it´s eminently practical, eliminating the superfluous and proposes a greater enjoyment of the spaces. It has come to stay, because we see that it´s easier to live without accumulating, especially taking into account the size of the average homes. 

    - We live in a society in which making a difference is more and more important and where it´s audience itself that think about a brand. In your opinion, which is the formula to find your place in the market and to be valued positively?

    I don't know if there´s a formula, I suppose it´s a matter of seeking what makes you different from the competition and trying to pass it on to the right people. I don´t mean to say it´s easy.

  • - New ways of communication and marketing are very important to advertize business so 'Visual' like yours. You keep active AIXÒ and get good feedback from your audience. Do you think that it is vital to be on social networks to get new (o rpotential) customers? 

    It´s imperative. Probably 80% of my clients have known me through social networks, maybe more. It's great that someone tells you that has travelled miles just to see your shop after following you on Facebook for months . 

    - Once you your AIXO physical shop was opened in Barcelona, you decided to create the online shop. Why did you choose Oleoshop? 

    In fact, the two shops were born together. After studying several options, and within the budget that I had, I chose Oleoshop because the understanding was good from the very beginning. They immediately understood the type of shop I wanted and gave me many tips to get it. Their experience is noticeable in this sense and it gave me trust. 

    - Do you think that opening an online shop has increase your business possibilities? Now, you can sell all over the world. Would you recommend small businesses like yours to invest on this opportunity to grow? 

    Sure, because you not only have the opportunity to sell out your nearest area, you also have a fantastic showcase for your product. The online shop also works a bit like a catalogue for customers in the physical shop.

  • - In your opinion, which do you think is the added value provided by Oleoshop during the creation of AIXÒ online shop? What would you highlight from their service and platform? 

    The added value is certainly closeness. Communication is frequent and very easy. Also I can suggest minor changes or point out aspects that I think that will help to make the shop easier to use, Oleoshop staff is always open to suggestions. In some ways, the website is growing little by little, it isn´t static. 

    And the platform is very easy to use, even for people who are not expert on this field.

    - Share three tips to keep in mind to set up your own business, expand it to the online sector and get it works. 

    I don't like giving advice. But I can say that it should be very clear and that we must take courage, patience and time.
