Main Google tools (2)

24/01/2018
  • Today we are going to tell you about measuring loading speed, know trends, visualize data and locate your business with 4 of the main Google tools.

  • On a previous post we talked about some of the main Google tools, namely Analytics, the recently renovated Search Console and Mobile Test.

The truth we left out too many interesting tools, therefore we have decided to prepare a new issue talking about other essential and useful tools. Let's go for them.
  • #1 – Google Page Speed

  • Website loading speed is very important, right? In fact, it has recently been confirmed that it happens to be a factor in SEO ranking for mobile from mid-2018.

The simplicity of Page Speed does not detract any importance and usefulness. Simply entering the URL that we want to analyze in the search box and click on “Analyze” button. In a few seconds you will have your analysis ready

It is a way to see at a glance what level of optimization we have in relation to the average pages.

The best of all is that it gives us data independently to desktop and mobile versions, as well as appropriate recommendations to improve specific aspects. These tips are usually the following:
    • Optimization of images
    • Gzip compression
    • Caching of resources
    • Deletion of redirections
This involves a guidance on those areas in which we must act before
  • #2 - Google Trends

  • I have a weakness for this tool. What it measures is no more no less than trends, and it also offers us a projection to the future of them.

Simply enter the term or terms to analyse and compare properly and it will offer us a very relevant information about:
    • The interest over the time: this information is represented by a very visual graph.
    • Interests by region: a map in which we can quickly see what areas are most relevant to a particular topic.
    • Related queries rising: these are terms that have registered an increase in interest.
Actually, Google Trends is a tool with multiple uses. It can help us from making a market study to a keyword research .Often, the keyword that has a greater volume today is not the one is growing more and therefore, the one with a better future.
  • #3 - Google Data Studio

  • What we have seen so far are quick reference tools, but DataStudio is not so much. Let's say that, concerning complexity, is below Google Analytics, but it has its difficulty.

Thanks to Google Data Studio we can prepare reports and dynamic dashboards with a flawless display of data

It's great to avoid the tedious task of reporting. Once we decide what we want to show and we connect data sources, any client or department can access through a URL and manage its own queries.

You can generate your data using various sources, such as other Google tools in the style of Search Console, Analytics orAdwords, but also from external sources such as a spreadsheet or a database. The possibilities are almost endless for developers, analysts and, of course, marketing responsible.

One of the best things is that you can use templates, so you will only have to change the data source. You will be able to use all the work done to see data from different customers.
  • #4 – Google My Business

  • A must for local searches. This tool allows us to configure all the information about our business that is shown when someone searches for our brand´s name or in GoogleMaps.

Do you know the typical box on the right side on Google results page? Correct, the one that shows the full address, the link to the website, photos of the company, reviews...

As you can imagine, this information is very important when working on SEO at local level. But it even also affects in the PPC through Adwords, which can be linked so that the locations appear in ads.

Take a look at your tab because there might be one although you have not created it. If this is the case, claim it to be under your control, and if still does not exist, you are already taking too long to sign up.

You will have to verify the address through a phone call, phone message, or post. It will not take you long and is worth it.
Fill in all possible fields, paying special attention to the area of activity or type of business, the website, opening time and other relevant attributes for your audience.
  • We have finished the analysis of these 4 essential Google tools. Did you know them? Did you know there were so many?
