How to promote your online shop in your local

05/05/2014
  • Hello again,

If you already have an online shop and you also have your own local, I ask you: have you explained to your customers / neighbours that you have an online shop?
If it is not, we propose you a few ideas to promote yourself:

    1. Put a banner or vinyl visible enough and/or attractive advertising your online shop in your local.
I know, it seems obvious, but believe us that it isn´t. Many businesses with online shops don´t use their locals to promote their business online, and its a huge mistake. Think about it: I have a local situated in a good area, where hundreds or thousands of people walk by everyday, where my usual or occasional customers come, and where I can put a free ad (except for the cost of producing it, of course...) and I'm not taking advantage of it... And on the other hand, I am putting aside a huge budget to position on internet, social networks and get visits on Facebook or Google Adwords. It doesn't make much sense, don't you think?

In short, advertise your online shop visibly starting in your own environment.
  • 2. Explain it to each and every one of customers who stop by the shop

It is an effort of promotion which can be very effective, and you can strengthen it in the following ways:

    · Use the till to impress your clients with your new message. If you put a small, visible, clear and direct ad, everybody who go to pay will read it.

    · Put a computer with the online shop so that customers can easily check the catalog. It is a good way to make it visible and give your clients a new tool.

    · Put a small text advertising the online shop on all tickets, invoices and documents that you print out in the shop. This way, customers will have it in writing.

    · Pick your new online shop and its url in the electronic signature of all your employees. This way, each email sent will be an advertisement in itself

    3. Tell your customers through email or SMS

If you have email address or the cell number of your customers, you can currently perform mass-mailing advertising with a really low cost and that can be very effective.
If in your business, you do not have this database, perhaps it´s time to consider a change and begin to file them for future campaigns.

    4. Create a contest among your customers who register online.

One of the ways that we propose you to take promotion to the next level is creating a contest at the shop and offer a prize as an incentive. Competition can consist of a raffle between participants who register on our website for a period of time, for example, one month.

This action has two advantages over the first tips: first is that you don´t just inform the customer, but you also make him visit your online shop to sign up, and second is that you get his/her data to develop marketing campaigns later on.

I hope these ideas help you
    Cheers ;)
