Why take note of the Facebook Marketing for Black Friday?
-
For a few years now, we have seen how Facebook’s wall becomes a battleground for brands and shops. Amid an absolute impact saturation, it is necessary to make things better than just good if we want to stand out in s positive way.
The main thing is to understand that we face a short high-intensity campaign. We could compare it to a sprint in track and field, we have to give ours all within a few meters.

Tips for your Black Friday Facebook campaigns
-
#1 – Black Week
-
-
You have to understand that Black Friday is more than just a “Friday”:it’s an entire week(and in some cases, it stretches much further, which is not advisable).
It is essential to warm up the audience. You can stimulate your audiencewith organic posts on your profile. Anticipate some of the offers and promotions you’ll have a few days before to create excitement.
There is a Black Friday shopper who is especially interesting. We call it the “professional”, that kind of shopper is different from the impulsive shopper because he/she shops in a much more reflective and meditated way. This is the main objective of this previous strategy, i.e. Facebook Marketing. You have to become the best option at that time.
If you are able to have your audience visit before the Cyberweek madness, you’ll already have a great advantage over the competition sinceyou’ll be able to hit him withremarketingon the same social media. Another thing that can help you at a page level, it’s awishlistsystem (if you don’t have it already, take note for the coming year). -
#2 – Analyze your goals and how to reach them
-
Obviously, behind all campaign, there must be a what and a how. In the case of Facebook Marketing during the Black Friday, as in any other seasonal peak, what leads the way are business objectives. The only difference is the channel, but do not lose focus of the ultimate goal because of a circumstantial context issue.
Before you define the strategy, you should assess two factors:
- Business factors: How much do I want to sell? What products will I promote? What’s my profit margin on said products? What’s my standing before the competition?
- Facebook factors: What was my most sold product last year? What kind of publications has been more successful in recent months? What format of my Facebook Ads reports more success?
Combine this data and you’ll have a good starting point to trace the broad lines of what your campaign will be during Black Friday.
-
#3 – Schedule your actions
-
When the time comes, you'll have plenty to do, especially if all goes well and demand skyrockets. Perhaps the urgent will take time from the important, so you should proactive in terms of your Facebook marketing strategy.
Write a document including every action planned (post, associated deal, target audience, post responsible...). According to my experience, the best option is to use a spreadsheet and, if possible, a Google spreadsheet that you can share with all the people involved.
This will allow you to keep track in real time of how things are going, it will also prevent that actions are left undeveloped, and most importantly, it will allow you to schedule and automate tasks.
-
#4 – Focus on the creativity and the message
-
It seems that, when Black Friday comes, a lot of online stores change their communication strategy to “be as loud as you can".
My recommendation is the opposite. Try to synthesize your deals in the simplest and most enjoyable way possible. Reduce visual stress and be very specific about what you are offering.
But of course, there is obviously a component of urgency, an essence of flash offers that should not be lost and must be very present (in the end, it’s one of the shortest periods of the year).
-
#5 – The importance of social proof
-
-
One of the greatest satisfactions of a buyer is to get a bargain and tell everyone, right? You should make the job easier for him/her by making the latest purchase shareable on the various social media.
This will favor the “call effect” and will incite the buyer’s friends to do their shopping on your store thanks to the implied recommendation that has that said buyer not only choose your shop but he/she did it publicly.
Now that this list of tips is over, there’s only one thinks I want to remark: Do not forget that the main objective is to get recurring customers, during Black Friday you may sell a lot but it will always be at the expense of your margin. The real success will be keeping these customers loyal for the rest of the year.
